September's Fresh Tomato Soup

Here is a great soup that is easy to prepare and has a wonderful light flavor.
1 Quart whole tomatoes with juice
1/2 tsp Baking soda
2 Cups whole milk or light cream
1 Tblsp butter
In a small pot add tomatoes and baking soda, stir and heat till hot.
In another small pot heat up milk and butter, do not boil.
Combine both together and stir. You can puree soup and then put it through a mesh filter to get out seeds. Season and enjoy. Makes four generous servings.
